The mission of the Prathertown Community Development Corporation is to empower and uplift our community through the alleviation of hunger, provision of affordable housing, promotion of financial literacy, delivery of homeownership counseling, and advancement of technology education. We are dedicated to fostering an environment where every individual has the resources and opportunities to thrive and contribute to our collective growth.
About Our
Organization
Within the historic district of Prathertown, Maryland that was founded in 1883 by once enslaved people, a cultural center is being established to help preserve historic artifacts that helped shape this community. In addition to promoting historic preservation, this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is offering educational and entrepreneurship programming. Jobs are being created and inter-generational activities offered in a community that is isolated and under served . In addition, community service/volunteer opportunities are available to help foster family unification and health and wellness…the very constructs by which Prathertown, Maryland was founded. JOIN US in building a community in which NO ONE is left behind!
